Chow down with my friend Sehar: Sehar suggested this restaurant when she read a advertisement about it on Facebook. It's considered one of the hottest restaurants in Ft Lauderdale thru Zagat. She and I love trying new restaurants together, and we decided to give Chow a try. It is a intimate style restaurant set up charmingly in a rustic sort of way. I loved the quiet ambience and decor. We sat inside and caught up with life and ordered a few sushi rolls. Our server was awesome and let us take our time and answered questions. The sushi roll ingredients were fresh and I really liked 2 out of the 3 rolls. We ordered chow's dragon roll which consisted of shrimp tempura, crab, cucumber, avocado. It tasted really flavorful. Secondly, we ordered Jennifer's Tilly roll that included salmon and jalapeño. The roll had a nice kick to it and I enjoyed it. The only roll which was lacking in my opinion was the off the chain roll that had tuna. The ingredients were great but it was lacking the sauce. The roll was described that it came with "secret sauce," but it did not have any. Overall, I liked the restaurant and the service. The sushi rolls had superior quality ingredients. Thanks Chow, I'm bringing the hubby here next time.~

Sorry Chow, I was hoping to give you 4 stars, but the food was pretty blah in my opinion. I'd actually had a roll from Chow before while dining next door at Bull Market and found that roll (Tiger Woods) to be quite delicious, so when I saw a Groupon available I snatched it knowing that I'd be happy coming back. We arrived on a Tuesday at 6:30pm to an empty restaurant, forgetting of course that Bull Market does $1 burgers on a Tuesday and it was Taco Tuesday two doors down. No worries, we ate outside and felt like we were still a part of the people. Because it was so dead the food came out extremely quickly, so I'll give them that. And our appetizer, the Brussel Sprouts were quite good. These came dressed in a Thai style peanut dressing, and well I love brussel sprouts, and I love peanut dressing, so they worked quite well for me. The pickled onion slices mixed in cut some of the sweetness and overall it was a good dish. For sushi I went with the California Cupcakes, which sound great in theory but really tasted like nothing tossed with some eel sauce, so pretty much sweet nothings lol. Yes, you can actually eat Sweet Nothings! Maybe I should have gotten a side of spicy mayo to flavor these a bit but I was too lazy. My dining companion went with the Jennifer Tilly roll, which had some things going for it, a) it was pretty large, b) rather pretty visually, but unfortunately c) also was a bit blah?! Again, probably should have gotten spicy mayo lol. The service was top notch and they were probably more annoyed with me for talking instead of even looking at the menu so she had to come back quite a few times lol. Like I said things came out quickly. Considering there's another sushi place within walking distance I probably won't be rushing back.

I bought a Groupon a while back and my boyfriend and I finally had time to check this place out before it expired. The food was good. We ordered the Tuna and Lobster Tacos for appetizers. I've had better. We also ordered the Korean Fried Chicken and Bulgogi Skirt Steak. The chicken was good, but it didn't wow me. I actually was drawn to come here because they had "Korean Fried Chicken." I was missing Bonchon, so I figured this place would give me my fix. Well, I got fried chicken, but that was it. The bulgogi was good, but my boyfriend and I thought it could've been marinated more for a more savory taste. The rice was also hard, but still edible. Other than that, service was ok. However, I feel it was pretty lax because there wasn't a lot of people. I mean, it's a Thursday night. Then again, I'm not in this area often; the whole street didn't seem busy at all. I should mention that the manager was accommodating because the Groupon actually required 4 guests to get the promo deal, but our trip was last minute. He gave us the amount that I paid for it versus the $40 promo value. I'd rather have that than have to come back. We rarely come to the area anyway. Would we come back? Probably not. But thanks for the experience!
